What are Gray Space Chapters?

Gray Space chapters are youth-led groups based in schools that lead important conversations, inspire cultural shifts, and advocate for mental health across their communities. These vibrant student teams are committed to meeting the needs of those around them and building environments where mental wellness is prioritized. They do this through policy advocacy, promoting mental health services, hosting awareness events, creating community spaces, and encouraging social connection. Every Gray Space chapter receives free access to valuable resources, expert insights, creative ideas, and a supportive network of peers. Gray Space strongly believes in the potential of youth and young adults to understand what their communities need and to lead real solutions. We are here to guide and uplift young changemakers as they take action, create meaningful impact, and support each other in growing through school and life.

How to Keep Your Gray Space Chapter Active

To ensure your Gray Space chapter remains strong and effective, follow these simple steps:

  1. Keep the Gray Space Chapters team at the national office informed by updating them with the current contact information for Chapter Presidents, Leaders, Advisors, and Members.
  2. Keep the Momentum Going: Continue organizing events, raising awareness, and creating a supportive space for mental health in your community.
  3. Fill out all Chapter Reports (usually sent out quarterly) to keep us updated on the activities and progress of your Gray Space chapter. This helps us stay connected and support your efforts effectively.
  4. Complete Yearly Updates: Submit an annual report or check-in form to keep your chapter’s status active and showcase your impact.
  5. Sustain Leadership: Make sure your chapter has an engaged team of students and a supportive advisor who are dedicated to leading initiatives.
  6. Adhere to School Policies: Follow your school’s guidelines for student organizations to ensure continued support and smooth operation.

By staying engaged and organized, your Gray Space chapter will remain a vital part of the mental health movement.

The Gray Space network includes a diverse range of institutions, from public and private schools to high schools, community colleges, technical colleges, and minority-serving schools.
